KOMOREBI is an unconventional furniture piece intended to encourage a more purposeful relationship between owner and object.
The wood base is crafted from 1 1/2 inch red oak, joined at the corners with mitred biscuit joints to preserve the flow of the grain, and mounted on two legs with dovetail rail joints.
Each end piece has a section removed, in order to hold a metal top piece. This “second skin” is composed of two sheets of 1/4 in. aluminum plate, water jet cut and TIG welded at a 10 degree angle.
Under different lighting conditions, the cutouts create unique shadow patterns. Ideal for floor-seated use, KOMOREBI makes a perfect addition for casual lounge space.
